Do you need any help (either financially or in terms of knowing the right people) with getting legal representation?

Possibly on the former, definitely on the latter. It's possible that a Civil Rights legal group will take on my case pro bono, or that I could arrange for my lawyer(s) to be paid out of proceeds if we win. I'm referring here specifically to a 1983 lawsuit, if I decide to wage one.

I could use legal advice for my preliminary hearing as well, but it's not critical. I've made extensive preparations for that hearing. I know what to expect, I've done lots of research, and I no doubt but that my trial will not proceed beyond the hearing, if it even goes that far.

Dan, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry this is happening to you, but if something good comes of this, it is that it's a true joy to see the courage of your convictions and your unwillingness to back down. Howard Roark could do no better.

Assuming your case goes forward, I would be very interested in dates. I have some vacation days to brun and like to watch trials. This one should be interesting

Thanks for the follow up. Not sure if I can make it, but I put it on my calendar.
